비현실이 추구하는 방향은 손으로 흔적을 남기는 우연적 드로잉에서부터 다양한 플랫폼에 적용 가능한 디지털 아트워크에 이르기까지 주로 일러스트레이션을 통해 표출 가능한 심미성의 한계를 실험하는 데 있다. 국내외 에디토리얼 디자인 및 브랜드 경험 디자인을 포괄하는 다양한 시각 디자인 작업을 수행한다.

BeHyunsil explores the boundaries of aesthetic expression, ranging from hand-drawn strokes to versatile digital artworks. With expertise in editorial and brand design both domestically and internationally, BeHyunsil engages in diverse communication design projects.

독립 출판을 위한 비현실은 디자인 주변부에서 일어나는 현상과 결과, 원인을 관찰하고 기록으로 남길만한 이슈를 발굴하여 서사와 맥락이 있는 글과 그림 서적으로 생산하는 실험 공간이다.

Dedicated to independent publishing, BeHyunsil Press aims to explore and uncover issues occurring at the periphery of design, observing and documenting phenomena, effect and causes worthy of record. Mainly focused on producing narrative-rich drawing and visual books.

about SEOYUL

서율(서효민)은 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 일러스트레이터이다. 서울대학교 디자인예술학부에서 도자 공예를, 영국 런던 예술대학교에서 커뮤니케이션 디자인 석사과정을 공부했다. 물성을 지닌 글을 사랑하는 책 수집가이자 모든 것의 당위성을 탐구하는 디자이너, 창작자이다. 홍익대학교, 연세대학교에서 일러스트레이션, 그래픽 디자인을 가르친다.

Seoyul is an illustrator based in Seoul, South Korea. She holds a degree in Ceramic Arts from Seoul National University and completed her Master's in Communication Design at the University of the Arts London. As a book collector, designer and artist, Seoyul passionately explores the intrinsic value of everything that happens in reality. She shares her expertise as a lecturer in illustration and graphic design at Hongik University and Yonsei University.
